Our School

Make me glad to have known and met you

St Patricks

Saint Patrick’s Primary School proudly serves the parish of Rasharkin. Established in 1972, the school was formed following the closure of four local schools and is located in the heart of the village, beside St Mary’s Church. Our pupils come from both the village and the surrounding rural areas, creating a close-knit and vibrant school community.

Currently, we have 240 pupils enrolled, supported by a dedicated team of 10 permanent teaching staff and 10 non-teaching support staff. We also have an attached nursery unit that caters for 26 children, providing a nurturing start to their educational journey.

As a school community, we are committed to creating a warm, caring, and inclusive environment where children feel happy, safe, and supported. Relationships across all levels of the school are strong, and our pupils are known for their friendliness, good behaviour, and enthusiasm for school life.

As a Catholic school, we encourage every child to take part in our religious celebrations and to live by the values of our shared faith. These values are woven into the fabric of daily life at Saint Patrick’s, guiding our ethos and approach to education.

Our school motto beautifully captures the spirit of our community:
“Make me glad to have known and met you.”
